Illustrated card series exploring AAPI identity through cultural cuisine and the concept of the
"perpetual foreigner" for
Trailblazer Heroes
Commissioned to illustrate three cards for an educational card game developed by Columbia University faculty, students, and alumni.
Two cards honoring cultural heritage through food, depicting Kottu Roti and Lahpet Thoke, rich with texture and tradition. The third Quest card took a more conceptual turn, visualizing the idea of the "perpetual foreigner."
Drawn in Procreate. 2024.

This piece explored the quiet alienation many in the AAPI community feel—being seen as outsiders in their own country, questioned with "Where are you really from?" despite generations of belonging. It captures the tension between identity and perception, and the resilience that lives in between.
